La Storia della Cucciolata E
La Cucciolata E è una storia intensa, fatta di attese, sfide e piccole meraviglie quotidiane.
Una cucciolata iniziata già con un percorso non semplice: portare il seme dalla Scozia è stato più complicato del previsto. Il maschio scelto non era un cane particolarmente conosciuto, ma aveva vinto un Field Trial Novice e, soprattutto, custodiva nella sua genealogia nomi che hanno segnato la storia dell’IGL e dei Field Trial nel Regno Unito. Una genetica che mi aveva letteralmente affascinata, al punto da volerla fortemente per Juna.
La prima ecografia lasciava sperare in 5 o 6 cuccioli, ma alla radiografia ne apparivano solo 2… enormi.
E già allora intuivo che il parto non sarebbe stato semplice.
Il giorno della nascita è stato uno dei più difficili e allo stesso tempo più preziosi.
Il primo cucciolo, un maschietto, si presentava in podalica con il sacco già rotto. Sono stati momenti di grande tensione, ma siamo riusciti a salvarlo. La seconda, una femminuccia, è arrivata bene, nel suo sacco chiuso, come da manuale.
La forza di Juna in quel momento è stata straordinaria, anche se il parto è stato davvero impegnativo per lei.
Nonostante tutto, quei cuccioli sono cresciuti magnificamente. Erano incredibilmente tranquilli: niente pianti, niente proteste quando li spostavo nel recinto, e – quasi incredibile a dirlo – erano già puliti a quattro settimane.
A volte ancora oggi mi chiedo se l’abbia sognato, ma è tutto vero.Juna, da brava mamma, ha fatto un lavoro impeccabile. A un certo punto ha smesso di dormire con loro, perché mangiavano già in autonomia, e ogni mattina trovavo il recinto perfettamente pulito. I piccoli aspettavano in silenzio di poter uscire in giardino per fare i loro bisogni. Un comportamento che raramente si vede a quell’età. Davvero sorprendente.
Oggi i cuccioli hanno intrapreso nuove avventure nelle loro famiglie.
Ector vive in Germania ed è amato e in splendida forma, iniziando il riporto proprio in modo eccellente.
Eva è rimasta qui vicino, a casa della mia amica Laura, così posso vederla regolarmente e osservare i suo processi nell'addestramento sul dummy. Nel mio cuore coltivo la speranza forte che la scelta di quella linea genetica porti i frutti che immaginavo. Anche se generalmente sono al contrario, ma questo accoppiamento sicuramente lo ripeto!

La Cucciolata E resterà per sempre un capitolo speciale: difficile, intensa, piena di emozioni… e assolutamente indimenticabile.
Ci siamo divertiti per i due mesi con questi piccolini meravigliosi, specialmente la Mina!

The Story of Litter E
​
Litter E is an intense story, made of anticipation, challenges, and little everyday miracles.
It all began with a path that was anything but simple: bringing the semen over from Scotland turned out to be more complicated than expected. The chosen stud wasn’t particularly well‑known, but he had won a Field Trial Novice and, above all, carried in his pedigree many of the great names that shaped the history of the IGL and UK Field Trials.
His genetics fascinated me deeply, to the point that I knew I wanted him for Juna.
The first ultrasound suggested 5 or 6 puppies, but the X‑ray showed only two… huge ones. And already then, I sensed the birth would not be easy. The day of the whelping was one of the most difficult, yet one of the most precious.
The first puppy, a male, arrived breech and with the sac already broken. Those were tense moments, but we managed to save him.
The second, a female, came perfectly, still inside her intact sac, just as it should be.
Juna’s strength in that moment was extraordinary, even though the delivery demanded a lot from her.
Despite everything, the puppies grew beautifully. They were incredibly calm: no crying, no complaints when I moved them into the pen, and—almost unbelievable—they were clean at just four weeks old. Even now I sometimes wonder if I imagined it, but it’s all true.
Juna, as a wonderful mother, did an impeccable job. At some point she stopped sleeping with them, as they were already eating on their own, and every morning I would find the pen perfectly clean. The little ones waited quietly to go outside into the garden to do their business. A behaviour rarely seen at such a young age—truly amazing.
Today the puppies have begun new adventures with their families.
Ector lives in Germany, much loved and in great shape, starting his retrieving work in an excellent way.
Eva stayed close by, with my friend Laura, so I can see her regularly and follow her progress with dummy training.
Deep inside, I strongly hope that the choice of this genetic line will bear the fruits I had imagined.
Even if I’m usually the opposite type, this mating is one I would definitely repeat!
Litter E will forever remain a special chapter: difficult, intense, emotional… and absolutely unforgettable.
We enjoyed these two months immensely with these wonderful little ones—especially Mina!
Die Geschichte des E‑Wurfs
Der E‑Wurf ist eine intensive Geschichte, geprägt von Erwartungen, Herausforderungen und kleinen alltäglichen Wundern.
Schon der Beginn war nicht einfach: Das Sperma aus Schottland zu bekommen, war deutlich komplizierter als gedacht. Der ausgewählte Rüde war nicht besonders bekannt, hatte jedoch einen Field Trial Novice gewonnen und trug in seiner Ahnentafel viele bedeutende Hunde, die die Geschichte des IGL und der Field Trials in Großbritannien geprägt haben.
Diese Genetik hat mich sofort begeistert – so sehr, dass ich sie unbedingt für Juna wollte.
Der erste Ultraschall ließ auf 5 bis 6 Welpen hoffen, doch auf dem Röntgenbild waren nur zwei zu sehen… riesige Welpen.
Schon da ahnte ich, dass die Geburt nicht leicht werden würde.
Der Tag der Geburt war einer der schwierigsten und zugleich wertvollsten.
Der erste Welpe, ein Rüde, kam in Steißlage und mit bereits geöffneter Fruchtblase zur Welt. Es waren sehr angespannte Momente, doch wir konnten ihn retten. Die zweite, eine Hündin, kam problemlos und wie im Lehrbuch in ihrer geschlossenen Blase.
Juna zeigte in diesen Momenten unglaubliche Stärke, obwohl die Geburt sehr anstrengend für sie war.
Trotz allem wuchsen die Welpen wunderbar. Sie waren unglaublich ruhig: kein Weinen, kein Protest, wenn ich sie in ihre Box setzte, und – kaum zu glauben – sie waren bereits mit vier Wochen sauber.
Manchmal frage ich mich heute noch, ob ich es mir eingebildet habe, aber es ist alles wahr.
Juna war eine vorbildliche Mutter. Irgendwann beschloss sie jedoch, nicht mehr bei ihnen zu schlafen, und konnte insofern auch nichts säubern. Ich fand allerdings jeden Morgen die Box sauber und trocken! Die Kleinen warteten geduldig, bis sie in den Garten konnten, um ihr Geschäft zu machen. Ein Verhalten, das man in diesem Alter kaum sieht – wirklich beeindruckend.
Heute haben die Welpen ihr neues Leben in ihren Familien begonnen.
Ector lebt in Deutschland, wird geliebt und ist in bester Form; auch seine ersten Schritte im Apportieren sind hervorragend.
Eva ist hier in der Nähe geblieben, bei meiner Freundin Laura, sodass ich sie regelmäßig sehen und ihre Fortschritte im Dummytraining beobachten kann.
In meinem Herzen hoffe ich sehr, dass die Wahl dieser genetischen Linie die Früchte trägt, die ich mir erhofft habe.
Auch wenn ich normalerweise nicht für Wiederholungen bin: aber diese Verpaarung werde ich definitiv wiederholen!
Der E‑Wurf wird für immer ein besonderes Kapitel bleiben: schwierig, intensiv, voller Emotionen… und absolut unvergesslich.
Wir hatten zwei wundervolle Monate mit diesen kleinen Schätzen – besonders mit Mina!
